OK, just a quick post today, but since it is Sunday, I thought I would make it a bit more fun than my normal ones. Did you know you can buy a rice cooker that sings? Well, you can, and it turns out that it comes from one of the premium rice cooker manufacturers, Zojirushi.
We all know that the Japanese are a bit quirky. A quick stroll around Tokyo, especially through the famous xxx district, will reveal a side of their culture that most people aren’t aware of. Whether it’s schoolgirl hostesses (weird!) or giant anime characters chasing each other around the streets (weird but funny), there’s no denying that things can get, well, strange, when it comes to the Japanese.
And that same quirky personality has found its way into their rice cookers.
Whereas most rice cookers simply emit a short chime or a beep when the cooking process is done, the Zojirushi models sing to you!
That’s right, the Zojirushi NS-LGC05XB plays the tune twinkle twinkle little star although, unfortunately, it doesn’t actually sing though. It’s really short maybe 2-3 seconds but it’s quite a novelty, especially if you have kids – mine love it!? It plays the tune once when you start the cooking and when it ends it plays the same tune.
Have fun until next time…
